Project Teach a Teen 2022: Four Day Training for Teenagers in Lagos Orphanage

From 23rd till 26th August 2022, Teens Going for Gold Network embarked on its annual summer training program for underserved teenagers in Nigeria known as Project Teach a Teen. The intensive four day training which took place in Precious Pearls orphanage located in the Orelope locality of Lagos state.

The training featured introduction to Graphic Design and the importance of Graphic Design, a business education class facilitated by Dr. Waheed Awonuga, successful entrepreneur and member of our Board of Trustees. Feyidara Akinmade, our Project Manager for Lagos state facilitated the sessions on Academic Excellence and Financial Education. All these sessions were punctuated with health and lunch breaks. Lunch was provided to all participants free of charge on all four days.

With support from Lagos Market Girl Entreprises, the teenagers were engaged in different vocational training classes on lucrative skills including how to make throw pillows, how to package gifts items and product photography. The four day event ended with an exhibition of the different items that the teenagers made over the four day event.
