Endorsement underscores Lagos State Government’s commitment to grassroots peacebuilding and youth empowerment through TGFGN’s ‘Kojo & Friends’ peace manual.

The Lagos State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education has officially endorsed Teens Going for Gold Network’s peace manual, Kojo & Friends, recognising it as an educational tool for advancing peace education and social harmony across the state.

This endorsement marks a significant milestone in TGFGN’s ongoing commitment to providing tailored peace education and infrastructure in Nigeria’s most vulnerable communities. Kojo & Friends, the first edition of TGFGN’s peace manual series, is designed to equip young learners across Lagos with hands-on skills in empathy, tolerance, and conflict resolution.

Hon. Tobi Olatunji, the Teens Going for Gold Network Executive Director, expressed excitement regarding the endorsement, stressing the significance of grassroots initiatives in nurturing sustainable peace through storytelling, dialogue, and innovative education that builds emotionally aware, socially responsible, and peace-driven young leaders.

Developed through extensive collaboration with teachers, learners, and peace educators, Kojo & Friends blends interactive lessons, relatable characters, and practical exercises to help learners internalise the values of cooperation, communication, and compassion. The manual, tested across selected schools, has received positive reviews from learners and educators for being engaging, eye-opening, and relevant to real-life conflicts.

“Peacebuilding should not be abstract. It should be something everyone can practice in their classroom, their homes, and their communities,” said Olatunji

TGFGN’s vision for its Peace Manual Initiative extends beyond Lagos, with plans already underway to expand its reach to other states through community workshops, social infrastructure development, and the creation and distribution of tailored peace manuals to secondary schools across Nigeria.
