Way To Go: Nigeria Plans To Build Digital Schools

Share

In a much welcome bit of news, Nigeria’s Federal Government is gearing to build digital schools across the country via its Universal Basic Education Commission

The UBEC Executive Secretary, Dr Hamid Bobboyi, says that this is in a bid to achieve the Commission’s vision of an efficient and extensive digital delivery of (basic) education in Nigeria.

Meanwhile, the commission’s Public Relations/Protocol Head, Mr David Apeh, in a statement, on Sunday, quoted Bobboyi as saying that the proposed schools would be purely digital, equipped with state-of-the-art learning facilities.

He then went on to add that a digital resource centre is being built in Abuja to facilitate digital learning in Nigeria’s Basic Education sub-sector.

“Basic Education as you are aware is the foundation upon which our education is built. If this pillar is weak, then all other tiers cannot stand.”
