Methodology
Our Approach to Peace Education
TGFGN’s approach is not one-size-fits-all. Every tool, curriculum, and programme is designed to respond to the specific social realities of different regions across Nigeria — ensuring that peace education is grounded in lived experience, not theory alone.

Pillar 01
Peace Education Tools Design
We design context-specific peace education tools tailored to the realities of Nigerian communities most affected by conflict and social instability. These tools include training curricula, facilitation guides, youth workbooks, and interactive learning resources that help young people understand each of the themes below.
Our resources leverage storytelling and are designed to be practical, culturally relevant, and adaptable for schools, youth groups, and community organisations.
Includes
Training Curricula
Facilitation Guides
Youth Workbooks
Interactive Resources
Understanding Differences
Exploring how identity, culture, and lived experience shape perspectives — and create the conditions for both conflict and connection.
Dialogue and Empathy Across Differences
Building the skills and dispositions needed for meaningful, respectful conversation across social, ethnic, and religious divides.
Conflict Resolution and Mediation
Practical frameworks for de-escalation, negotiation, and structured mediation at the community level.
Leadership and Civic Responsibility
Developing young Nigerians as accountable leaders who understand their role in shaping the communities they inhabit.
Community Problem Solving
Equipping young people with participatory tools to identify, analyse, and collaboratively address community-level challenges.
Pillar 02
Transformative Learning Experiences
We create high-impact learning experiences that equip young people with the skills they need to thrive in the future of work and contribute to peaceful communities.
At Teens Going for Gold Network, we recognise that conflict often grows where opportunity is limited and access to resources is unequal. By expanding access to practical skills and economic opportunities, we help reduce young people’s vulnerability to crime, violence, and exploitation.
Through initiatives such as Project Teach a Teen and interactive online learning programmes, participants gain practical knowledge across four core areas:
Vocational Skills Acquisition
Practical skills that support income generation and economic independence for young people.
Technology & AI Literacy
Equipping participants for the digital economy — from basic digital tools to emerging AI applications.
Public Speaking & Leadership
Building confidence, communication, and leadership through structured facilitation and real-world challenges.
Essential Soft Skills
Critical thinking, emotional intelligence, collaboration, and other competencies for the future of work.
These immersive programmes empower young people to build financial independence, expand their opportunities, and become positive forces for peace and development in their communities.
Pillar 03
Building Peace Infrastructure in Communities
Lasting peace requires structures that sustain learning and action. We work with schools and communities to create platforms where young people can continuously practise peacebuilding.
By building these networks and structures, we ensure that peace education continues long after our programmes end.
Our Goal
To equip young Nigerians with the knowledge and perspective needed to heal divisions, foster understanding, and actively contribute to a more stable and harmonious society.
Peace Education Bootcamps
Intensive training programmes in peace leadership — giving participants deep, structured exposure to peacebuilding frameworks and methodologies.
Peace Clubs in Secondary Schools
Student-led groups in secondary schools where young people practise dialogue, collaboration, and community service as a sustained, ongoing commitment.
Peace Ambassadors Fellowship
A fellowship that equips young leaders to promote peace in their schools and neighbourhoods — creating a visible, credible network of youth peacebuilders.
